Job Description

Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is looking for an experienced AC Power Electrical Engineer to join the Facilities Engineering Division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the AC power systems and equipment at the laboratory. This role involves participating in the design and specification of medium and low voltage AC power distribution systems, overseeing subcontractors, and ensuring the reliability of the electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain oversight of all electrical distribution systems at PPPL.
  • Respond to emergencies affecting the AC power system.
  • Participate in the design of AC power distribution systems for industrial facilities.
  • Supervise AC Power technicians and subcontractors.
  • Update and maintain documentation for AC Power related work.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Group on project delivery.
  • Review design documents for compliance with standards.
  • Advocate for improvements to PPPL Standards.
  • Provide expertise in electrical metering and energy management systems.
  • Develop engineering solutions for electrical issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in AC power systems design.
  • Proficiency in power systems analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
