Job Description
We are looking for an Assistant Retail Supervisor to join Aldi's team. As an essential member of the store management, you will assist in supervising day-to-day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans. Your role will involve identifying training opportunities to nurture the growth of the team and enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing action plans to enhance store operating results.
- Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
- Identify training opportunities for team development and improved performance.
- Understand and uphold company values to foster a sense of teamwork among employees.
- Keep abreast of the local competitive environment and suggest adjustments to maintain competitiveness.
- Participate in the store personnel interviewing process.
- Ensure adherence to inventory procedures, product handling guidelines, and cash control policies.
- Resolve operational customer concerns effectively.
- Maintain store cleanliness and proper stock levels through effective product ordering.
- Maximize sales through neat product merchandising and accurate signage.
- Supervise team operations, ensuring timely completion of tasks for outstanding customer service.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures to uphold security and confidentiality standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Stock and arrange merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Engage in various physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and walking.
- Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
Job Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to lead a team.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Experience in a retail environment and management roles preferred.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 3 years of progressive retail experience.
- Combination of education and experience considered.
- Prior management experience is a plus.
