Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Associate Buyer to join our dynamic ALDI National Buying team. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the product life cycle, working closely with suppliers, and supporting the Buying Director. You will need exceptional organizational skills, the ability to think critically, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Buying Director in managing a sub-group of products through their life cycle.
  • Request, organize, and manage product samples from suppliers.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on market knowledge.
  • Coordinate internal and external information flow for multiple projects.
  • Solve problems with vendors and product issues effectively.
  • Utilize various computer applications for database management and reporting.
  • Act as a liaison between internal and external parties.
  • Provide training to new staff and contribute to teamwork.
  • Recommend changes or improvements in operations and seek further training if needed.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate relevant information.
  • Perform administrative duties and maintain document security.

Job-specific Competencies

Required competencies include attention to detail, organizational skills, teamwork, goal achievement, time management, communication skills, problem-solving, and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience

  • Associate Degree in Business or related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements

Work may be performed in an office or remote setting, requiring the use of a computer and office equipment. Physical demands include sitting, standing, keyboard use, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

Travel

Minimal travel may be required for job-related duties.
