Athletic Trainer

Job Description

Blount Memorial Hospital is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training services at various events and in the clinic as part of the Sports Medicine Program. The Athletic Trainer will assess athletes, monitor progress, deliver physical therapy care, and contribute to multidisciplinary patient care teams. This role involves interacting with patients, staff, and the community professionally, as well as providing education on health and wellness.

Job Responsibilities

• Assess athletes and provide athletic training services at sporting events, community activities, and in clinical settings.
• Monitor athlete progress, document treatment responses, and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Deliver physical therapy care to diverse patient populations under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and the public.

Job Specifications

• Education and Experience: Current Athletic Training license by the State of Tennessee Division of Health Related Boards and CPR Certification required. Membership in a professional association recommended.
• Knowledge: Understanding of growth and development, injury assessment and treatment methods, and human behavior and performance.
• Skills: Effective communication, critical thinking, monitoring performance, and active listening.
• Abilities: Deductive reasoning, comprehension of oral information, and application of general rules to specific problems.
