Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Automotive or Diesel Mechanic to join our team at First Student, the largest school transportation provider in North America. As a Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing school buses to ensure safety and reliability. This position offers a competitive salary range of $26-$37 per hour, along with various benefits and career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and repairs on school buses.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle components including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
• Guide and support lower-level technicians.
• Ensure accurate completion of work orders.
• Provide assistance with mobile emergency services.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
• Minimum 3 years of automotive or diesel maintenance experience or technical education.
• ASE certification program participation required.
• Ability to pass DOT drug testing and physical examinations.
