Scott County Hospital in Scott City, KS, is currently seeking a dedicated Certified HIM Coder to join our close-knit team. As an In-House Certified HIM Coder, you will play a crucial role in accurately assigning codes for diagnoses, treatments, and procedures. Our ideal candidate is committed to upholding the highest standards of patient care while contributing to the growth and success of our hospital.

ON-SITE POSITION - NO REMOTE WORK

Responsibilities

• Assign appropriate codes for inpatient and outpatient encounters.
• Review provider documentation for accuracy.
• Utilize technical coding principles and reimbursement expertise.
• Ensure compliance with coding standards and guidelines.
• Assist in the review of medical records for completeness.

Requirements

• Two years of direct coding experience and completion of a certified coding program.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and disease processes.
• Successful completion of AHIMA's or AAPC's coding exam.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
