Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Clinical Development Lead specializing in Solid Tumor Oncology with a focus on BTC (Biliary Tract Cancer) and GEA (Gastroesophageal Adenocarcinoma) to join our innovative team at Jazz Pharmaceuticals. As the Clinical Development Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the late-stage development and life-cycle management of a key Oncology asset for BTC and GEA. You will play a vital role in driving the Clinical Development strategy, managing cross-functional teams, and leading a team of Medical Directors and Clinical Scientists to ensure the successful development and commercialization of the asset. This role requires strategic leadership, clinical development planning, cross-functional collaboration, regulatory compliance, clinical trial oversight, data analysis, risk management, external collaboration, budget, and resource management, as well as people development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the clinical development of BTC and GEA Oncology programs.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive Global clinical development plans for Oncology in the context of BTC and GEA.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of clinical development programs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Oversee the execution of clinical trials, ensuring data quality and patient safety.
  • Analyze clinical trial data and collaborate with biostatisticians to interpret results.
  • Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies for clinical development programs.
  • Manage budget allocation and resource planning for clinical development programs.
  • Foster a high-performance culture within the clinical development team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience with successful late-stage development of a Solid Tumor Oncology asset.
  • Proven experience leading high-performing clinical development teams.
  • Executive presence with the ability to articulate complex insights to both internal and external audiences.
  • MD required, Board-certified Oncologist preferred.
  • Higher postgraduate degree e.g., PhD preferred.
  • Clinical and/or development experience in solid tumor oncology preferred.
