Community Connector for the Violence Intervention Project

Job Description

Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha (APM) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Community Connector for the Violence Intervention Project in Philadelphia, PA. The selected candidate will work closely with the Violence Intervention team to engage individuals at risk of perpetuating violence and provide critical support services. This is a full-time position with a focus on community outreach and engagement in North Philadelphia.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Violence Intervention team to engage with non-fatal shooting victims and at-risk individuals.
• Provide outreach services in coordination with the Philadelphia Police Department and community leadership.
• Carry out eligibility assessments for support services and maintain ongoing communication with individuals on the outreach list.
• Represent APM in community events and meetings to increase awareness and referrals.

Requirements

• BA preferred or equivalent experience in direct service work with high-risk individuals.
• Experience working with street-involved high-risk populations.
• Valid driver's license or access to public transportation.
