Construction Cost Project Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Construction Cost Project Analyst to join our National Real Estate Services team at Aldi. As we aim to grow rapidly in the grocery retail sector, your role will involve managing construction costs on a national scale and collaborating with divisional teams to assess construction bids. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of construction documents and hold an educational background in construction, architecture, or engineering. Your primary objective will be to align construction costs with project scopes and regional cost trends.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Construction Managers to negotiate with contractors.
• Collaborate with the Director of Real Estate and Construction Manager to establish appropriate scopes for clarity on pricing.
• Provide divisions with updated pricing data for consistency.
• Analyze bids in detail and recommend the most suitable bidder.
• Prepare quarterly reports for the National Real Estate Project Manager.
• Identify and address pricing discrepancies and propose cost-saving opportunities.
• Research alternative materials and methods for cost-effective practices.
• Review all contract pricing before execution by divisions.
• Train and mentor team members for a professional workforce.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Construction Estimating.
• Knowledge of construction cost indices and RS Means software.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
