Data Center Operations Technician I

Job Description

The Data Center Operations Technician I position at Flexential is a critical 24x7x365 role, responsible for providing physical and Level II technical support to customers. This position requires a strong understanding of Facilities infrastructure, Windows operating systems, and PC troubleshooting. The ideal candidate must excel in professionalism and technical competency when engaging with customers and internal resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide prompt resolution and escalation of Facility and customer issues.
• Maintain a professional demeanor while executing data center duties.
• Troubleshoot and document technical issues using the Flexential ticketing system.
• Follow Flexential Support and Data Center policies, processes, and procedures.
• Offer local access and escort services for vendors and carriers.
• Assist with physical and logical installations of Flexential services.
• Ensure cleanliness and security of the Data Center.
• Perform Facilities Rounds and report relevant information.
• Manage inbound and outbound shipping/receiving.
• Operate and maintain the Badge Access Security System.
• Collaborate as needed with the Critical Infrastructure Manager (CIM).
• Maintain cabling and inventory levels in coordination with local management.
• Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Operating systems.
• Self-motivated with strong communication skills.
• Keen attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Preferably 1 year of experience in an IT Support environment.
• AA, BS, or High School Diploma.
• Preferred certifications: Network +, Security +, CCNA, MCP, or MCSA.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work at heights and climb ladders.
• Capacity to work in cold environments.
• Aptitude to handle heavy equipment and cabling.

Hourly Pay Range

• The estimated hourly pay range is $18.38 - $21.55, based on experience and qualifications.
