Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Detentions Deputy to join Clear Creek County, Colorado. As a Detentions Deputy, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the detentions facility. Your responsibilities will include transporting inmates, supervising inmate workers, maintaining records, and overseeing various aspects of facility operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Enforce County laws, and State and Federal Statutes.
- Maintain security by monitoring inmates, visitors, and employees.
- Book in and Bond out prisoners, update inmate records.
- Administer drugs as per instructions.
- Inspect cell blocks, kitchen, and work areas.
- Transport inmates to court or medical appointments.
- Act as court bailiff and testify when necessary.
- Supervise inmate workers and maintain records.
- Prepare reports and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- At least one year of law enforcement experience.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License, CPR and first aid certification.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate must have detailed knowledge of constitutional and case law, law enforcement practices, and detentions facility operations. Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, use of firearms, and physical fitness are essential for this role.
Physical Requirements
Good health, physical strength, and agility are required. Must have visual and auditory capacity, fine/gross motor skills, and ability to detect criminal/hazardous situations.
