Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Diesel or Automotive Mechanic to join our team at First Student, the largest school transportation provider in North America. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing school buses to ensure safety and vehicle readiness, while also providing supervision to junior technicians.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance checks.
- Diagnose and conduct repairs on vehicle components including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Ensure accurate completion of work orders and provide support for mobile emergency services.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
- 1-5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance experience or technical school education.
- Own a mechanic's tool set and be open to participating in the ASE certification program.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical assessments.
