Job Description
We are currently looking for dedicated Diesel or Automotive Mechanics to join our team at First Student, the leading school transportation provider in North America. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing school buses, ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and repair a range of vehicle components, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Provide guidance to junior technicians and ensure work orders are completed accurately.
- Participate in mobile emergency services when required.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license; willingness to obtain CDL while employed (training provided).
- 1-5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education.
- Possess a mechanic's tool set and be open to participating in the ASE certification program.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical requirements.
