Mentor Community Services, a part of the Sevita family, is seeking dedicated Direct Support Professionals/Caregivers to join our team in Columbia, MO. In this role, you will work in community settings, supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to live independently while providing transportation, assistance with daily living skills, and guidance on developmental goals.
Responsibilities
- Transport and support individuals in the community for outings, medical appointments, and shopping.
- Assist with meal preparation and medication administration.
- Provide guidance on developmental goals like community participation, budgeting, exercise, and vocational responsibilities.
- Support individuals with living skills such as personal hygiene and grooming.
- Assist in redirecting agitated or aggressive behaviors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5 years of caregiving experience (documentation required) to substitute education.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Access to a registered vehicle with insurance.
- Clear background checks.
- Reliable and responsible attitude.
- Compassionate approach and commitment to quality.
