Direct Support Professional for Recreation and Respite Activities

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Direct Support Professional for Recreation and Respite Activities to join our team at Hand In Hand! In this role, you will be responsible for supporting individuals with disabilities in recreational and respite activities, helping them build new skills and achieve their goals. This part-time position offers rewarding opportunities to contribute to creating positive experiences for participants in various social and recreation opportunities, including a Parks & Rec style sports league.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to children and adults enrolled in recreation programs.
• Develop and implement adaptive activities for participants.
• Act as a positive role model and actively engage in programs and activities.
• Ensure quality, safety, and welfare of all participants.

Requirements

• Minimum 16 years of age.
• Certification in CPR, first aid, and mandatory reporting of abuse (provided if not yet obtained).
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Effective communication skills with children, adults, and colleagues.
• Passion for making a positive impact on others' lives.
• Proficiency in behavior modification techniques.
• Experience with creating and leading inclusive programs.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
