Kontron America Inc, a global leader in IoT/Embedded Computing Technology, is offering an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Engineering Technician 2 to join their Springfield, OH location. This mid-level role requires an experienced technician proficient in board-level soldering, testing, and repair of electronic circuits. The position involves supporting engineers, building prototypes, diagnosing issues, performing tests, managing electronic components, and ensuring standards compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers in daily tasks.
• Build and assemble electronic prototypes and small series.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic circuits.
• Conduct tests, gather data, and prepare test reports.
• Assist with testing at customer sites or external labs.
• Maintain electronic components stock and support production.
• Participate in standards compliance activities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in engineering technology.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics assembly & design.
• Proficiency in interpreting procedures, schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs.
• SMT PCB rework experience.
• Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment.
• Knowledge of testing standards like J-STD-001, IPC-610 & MIL (preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
