Salary Range: $74,400 - $92,900/year
Position Summary
The Engineer II (EII) at EarthScope Consortium manages and implements multiple field projects related to geophysical instruments and networks. This role involves logistics, field operations, instrumentation knowledge, and collaboration with various teams.
Responsibilities
- Implement geophysical projects, including logistics, site reconnaissance, installation activities, and maintenance.
- Solve technical issues related to geophysical sensor hardware, firmware, software, and data communications.
- Evaluate instrument design, specify station configurations, and ensure documentation.
- Contribute to technical reports, project feedback, and collaborative projects within EarthScope Consortium.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Experience in geophysical sensors or networks.
- Preferred familiarity with data quality analysis software.
Skills & Abilities
- Technical knowledge of geophysical sensors and proficiency in hand/power tools.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, prioritize tasks, interpret data, and ensure project completion.
Environment
The role involves physical demands and field work under varying conditions.
