Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Engineering Operations Tech to join Amazon Data Services, Inc. in the role of Data Center Engineering Operations Technician. This position involves operating and maintaining critical electrical and mechanical equipment within data centers, ensuring the continuous functionality of standby generators, switchboards, UPSs, and other systems. The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and carrying out maintenance tasks, adhering to safety procedures, and driving innovation to optimize operational costs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and fire/life safety equipment in data center facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and rack-level issues within set timeframes.
  • Perform maintenance activities like filter changes, HVAC PMs, and rack power installations.
  • Support Data Center Operations technicians and supervise contractors.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and write procedures.
  • Take operational readings of equipment and manage workflows through internal systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance of mechanical or electrical equipment.
  • Experience in operating systems within mission-critical environments.
  • Familiarity with building management and control systems.
  • Active US Government Security Clearance at or above Top Secret level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of Data Center Engineering Experience.
  • Proficiency in network design, low voltage cabling, and maintenance management software.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
