Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Estimator to join MacArthur Co., a leading national distributor of building materials. As an employee-owned company, we offer a unique opportunity for you to become a part of our success. The Estimator will play a crucial role in supporting our sales team by estimating quantities of building materials required for various projects. This position will involve managing the project estimating process, collaborating with sales teams, and ensuring accurate and timely completion of estimations.
Responsibilities
- Search electronic plan rooms for projects and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Create material quotes based on industry standards and software tools.
- Collaborate with other estimators to manage workloads and revise estimates as needed.
- Provide support to inside and outside sales teams and build relationships with industry stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulations related to construction materials.
Requirements
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
- Knowledge of construction materials, especially roofing, siding, windows, doors, and HVAC.
- Proficiency in math, estimating, and Office Suite software.
- Experience with blueprint scaling, printing, and CAD drafting software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
