Fleet Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

Walpole, Inc. is currently seeking a talented Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team at the Birmingham, AL terminal. As a crucial part of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of loads.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose diesel engines, after-treatment problems, and various vehicle components.
• Perform brake, bearing, seal, electrical, HVAC system, and air brake repairs.
• Select appropriate repair actions, evaluate completed work, and ensure accurate work order completion.
• Participate in safety and educational training, perform road calls, and move vehicles between job areas.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, team members, and supervisors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3 years of vehicle/equipment maintenance experience.
• ASE/EVT Certifications preferred.
• Valid driver’s license (Class A CDL preferred).
