Job Description
Montgomery & Associates (M&A) is looking for a full-time Early Career Hydrogeologist to join our California team. This position will involve analytical support for groundwater modeling projects and GIS analysis, with a focus on providing technical assistance to multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. The role will require interaction with team leaders, project staff, and managers at M&A.
Our company, consisting of highly esteemed water resources professionals, has been in operation since 1984 and is expanding its operations in the western U.S. and South America. The Early Career Hydrogeologist will primarily work on projects related to the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act in Northern California, supporting a team of water resource scientists and engineers.
Responsibilities
- Interpretation of hydrogeologic data
- Supporting model inputs and results
- Developing water budgets and conceptual models
- Evaluating hydrogeologic data
- Preparing technical reports
- Collaborating with task leads and project managers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hydrology, geology, or engineering (graduate degree preferred)
- Experience with groundwater principles and modeling
- Proficiency in GIS, Survey123, SQL, and Access databases
- Up to 4 years of consulting experience
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Technical writing ability
- Fieldwork capability
- California driver's license
