Job Description
We are seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join Middle River Aerostructure Systems, a world-leading manufacturer of thrust reversers, engine nacelle components, and specialized aerostructures. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of assembly for legacy and new product introduction (NPI) programs, focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and technology development.
Responsibilities
- Provide production troubleshooting support and daily direction to manufacturing personnel.
- Develop and maintain assembly work instructions, repair plans, and vendor fabrication instructions.
- Design and implement new assembly and inspection tooling.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce cycle times.
- Participate in equipment upgrades and provide ME/DFM input on design activities.
- Investigate product quality issues and implement improvements related to defect reduction.
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
- Strong technical and hands-on experience with fabrication and mechanical assembly.
- Experience with CAD, engineering drawings interpretation, and specifications.
- Desirable: Catia V5 experience, aerospace background, GD&T knowledge, Lean Manufacturing, and six sigma methods exposure.
