Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers quality care within the scope of practice as outlined by the local state nurse practice act. Responsibilities include monitoring patients as directed, providing nursing care, administering medications, and documenting actions in medical records.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Current Practical Nurse license in the state of employment.
- Active CPR certification.
- Knowledgeable about state laws and regulations.
- Completion of clinical competencies.
Responsibilities
- Utilize a systematic approach to meet patients’ health needs.
- Implement nursing care within the LPN scope of practice.
- Develop and implement teaching plans based on patient needs.
- Administer medications and care for wounds.
- Monitor vital signs and report changes.
- Document actions and medical records.
- Other nursing duties as assigned.
