Job Description

The Animal Medical Center of Seattle, WA is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology team. We offer up to $3000 hiring bonus for a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 2 years in a hospital setting.

Summary:

As a Veterinary Neurology Technician at the Animal Medical Center of Seattle, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinary neurologist in delivering specialized care to animals with neurological disorders. Your responsibilities include closely monitoring patients with neurological conditions, assisting in various diagnostic procedures such as MRI & CT, performing anesthesia, administering treatments and medications, educating pet owners, and working closely with veterinarians and support staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Restrain and lift animals during examinations and treatments.
  • Perform and assist in patient procedures as directed by the neurologist(s).
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia.
  • Maintain accurate records of anesthesia procedures, drug administration, and vital signs.
  • Administer treatments, calculate drug dosages, and ensure patient comfort.
  • Perform radiographs, laboratory work, and provide outstanding customer service.

Requirements:

  • AA degree or BA/BS degree from an accredited veterinary technician program.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a veterinary hospital setting.
  • Strong anesthesia skills and knowledge of basic computer functions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively.

Schedule:

  • Monday-Wednesday, 7am-7pm & Tuesday-Friday, 8am-6pm.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation: $30 - $40/hr. Veterinary Technician Specialists starting at $40/hr.
