Job Description
Mission & Vision: The purpose of Chartwell Center, now part of Easterseals Louisiana, is to provide educational services and therapy to individuals with autism spectrum and related disorders. As a Life Skills Mentor, you will help young adults on the autism spectrum develop communication, social, vocational, and life skills to reach their highest potential through best practice methods and techniques.
Responsibilities
- Engage with adults on the autism spectrum to enhance their quality of life.
- Lead activities like yoga, art projects, and daily walks.
- Prepare lesson plans and create a fun learning environment.
- Collaborate with team members and families to set and achieve behavioral and vocational goals.
Requirements
- Passion for helping individuals with learning differences.
- Experience with autism and Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Flexibility, patience, empathy, and a can-do attitude.
- Bachelor's degree, valid driver's license, and excellent communication skills.
