Medical Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join University of Toledo Physicians. In this role, you will support our physicians in providing exceptional patient care and maintaining efficient clinic operations. The Medical Assistant will perform various clinical tasks, work collaboratively with healthcare providers, and ensure patients receive top-notch care.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical procedures under physician supervision
• Assist in physical exam preparations and vital sign measurements
• Communicate instructions clearly to patients
• Prepare exam rooms and medical supplies
• Handle lab procedures and tests within scope of practice
• Maintain documentation and patient records
• Assist in specialty duties as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• BLS Certification
• 1+ year of clinical experience or Medical Assistant Diploma
• Strong interpersonal and clinical skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic computer skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assisting Program
• RMA, CMA, or CCMA Certification
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role

Working Conditions

• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
• Sitting, standing, walking, and interacting with patients
• Primarily working indoors in clinical settings
• Close contact with medical patients
