Wilmington Eye is seeking a dedicated Optical Technician to join our team. As an Optical Technician, you will play a key role in providing exceptional vision care services to our patients. Your responsibilities will include greeting and assisting patients, analyzing prescriptions, fitting glasses, and ensuring the highest quality of vision care.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to patients and meet their vision needs effectively.
• Take accurate measurements, customize and repair eyewear.
• Verify and inspect eyewear using specialized tools.
• Assist physicians with diagnostic work related to patient prescriptions.
• Maximize sales by understanding patient needs and recommending suitable products.
• Maintain a clean and organized dispensary, ensuring company assets are secure.
• Address complex patient requirements and provide in-depth product knowledge.
• Explain insurance and vision plan benefits to patients clearly.
• Demonstrate a proactive attitude, drive for results, and continuous learning.
• Adhere to practice policies, procedures, and contribute to a positive team environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of optical and retail experience.
• Proficiency in computer skills and following procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong teamwork skills and high individual productivity.
• Technical expertise and willingness to travel as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
