Part Time Deputy Jailer

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Part Time Deputy Jailer to join the Boone County Fiscal Court team. As a Deputy Jailer, you will be responsible for supervising inmates, processing incoming and outgoing inmates, maintaining security within the jail, and performing various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inmates and ensure their well-being and security.
• Process incoming and outgoing inmates efficiently.
• Maintain accurate logs of shift activities.
• Perform housekeeping tasks and supervise inmates in various duties.
• Transport inmates to external appointments or facilities as needed.
• Monitor communication systems and respond to emergencies appropriately.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in inmate supervision is preferred.
• Ability to maintain physical fitness for the demands of the job.
• Must pass background checks and training requirements.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.

Special Requirements

• Minimum of 21 years of age.
• Completion of annual on-site training.
• Bondable and able to maintain security clearance.
