Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our healthcare team by ensuring accurate specimen collection, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and providing patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative working environment.
• Obtain specimens following laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate effectively to share relevant details about patients or samples.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Demonstrate competency in following procedures and protocols.
• Assist colleagues to ensure productivity and organization of workload.
• Adhere to proper specimen packaging, transport, and accessioning.
• Practice infection control measures and conduct drug screen collections.
• Respond to laboratory calls and recognize emergent conditions promptly.
• Deliver phlebotomy services in a professional and patient-focused manner.
• Engage in self-evaluation to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Ensure quality of care and contribute to service excellence in the laboratory.
• Work collaboratively with different departments within the hospital.
• Perform arterial punctures and adhere to infection control practices diligently.
• Complete other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience.
• Experience working in a clinical setting.
