Job Description

We are looking for a Prep Cook who is fluent in Spanish to join the team at Silver Diner Development, LLC. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing Silver Diner's menu items to the highest standards, ensuring a clean and organized work station, and delivering top-quality dishes.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a clean and organized station with continuous cleaning.
  • Prepare menu items according to specifications and preparation lists.
  • Measure and gather ingredients and cook items as per guidelines.
  • Label, date, rotate, and store prepared items properly following FIFO system.
  • Operate kitchen equipment and report any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Work as part of a team with clear and constructive communication.

Brand Delivery

  • Adhere to work schedule.
  • Maintain a positive and fun attitude at work.
  • Keep a clean personal appearance with a tidy uniform and station.
  • Strictly comply with uniform standards.

Cost Balance

  • Handle kitchen equipment with care to prevent breakage.
  • Monitor waste.

Physical Requirements

The work area includes food, refrigerator, knives, toasters, syrup dispensers, dishes/bowls, slippery floors, and sometimes high temperatures. This is a physically intense environment that requires physical endurance, the ability to tolerate heat, refrigeration rooms, lift/maneuver boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, and stand or walk on hard surfaces for 10 to 12 hours a day. Ability to reach objects, bend, lift and carry objects, stoop, and clean. Ability to tolerate the proper use of cleaning and disinfecting products.
