Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join The University of Vermont Health Network as part of the Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit team. As an essential member of the perioperative services, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care to patients throughout their surgical/invasive procedures and recovery processes.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver quality care to patients using the nursing process.
• Ensure a seamless perioperative experience for patients, including pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure monitoring, and post-procedure evaluation.
• Provide effective pain management, prevent complications, and offer patient/family education.
• Become proficient in two of the three areas of Perioperative Services: Operating Room Circulating Nurse, Pre/Post Nurse, or Endoscopy Nurse.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
• Minimum of two years of med/surg nursing experience; Critical Care experience preferred.
• ACLS required, PALS within 12 months.
• Demonstrated IV therapy, venipuncture, and customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
