Job Description
The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. As a Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients throughout their perioperative experience. From pre-procedure preparation to post-procedure evaluation and education, you will ensure the well-being and comfort of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver comprehensive care to patients before, during, and after surgical/invasive procedures.
- Assist physicians during procedures and provide necessary support to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor patients closely, anticipate complications, and intervene as needed to maintain patient stability.
- Provide effective pain management strategies and educate patients and their families on post-procedure care.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
- Minimum of two years of med/surg nursing experience; Critical Care experience is preferred.
- ACLS certification required; PALS certification within 12 months.
- Strong communication skills and exceptional customer service orientation.
- Ability to adapt, learn new skills, and prioritize tasks effectively.
