Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Lead Data Scientist specializing in Advanced Predictive Maintenance to join our Novelis Digital Center of Excellence Data Science team. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert in Advanced Predictive Maintenance projects, focusing on critical equipment and machinery maintenance on our manufacturing floors in Atlanta. This position will involve developing standards, governance, and processes for APM Analytical workflows and implementing digital solutions on-site, with up to 20-25% travel required in the US and occasionally internationally.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
The Senior Lead Data Scientist will work on various Predictive Maintenance solutions at Novelis, collaborate with plant engineers globally, and develop internal APM products utilizing anomaly detection machine-learning algorithms. Key responsibilities also include documenting and communicating model results effectively, testing and maintaining analytical models, adhering to industry best practices, and supporting the building of accelerators for APM solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial, robotics, or related discipline.
- Master’s degree in computer science or related field.
- 3-4 years of experience applying Predictive Maintenance in an industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of industrial data sources and data mining tools.
- Ability to work independently and across regions with effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Predictive Maintenance technologies, especially in metals manufacturing.
- Experience with global initiatives in a matrix organization and frontend solutions development.
- Understanding of operational technology architectures and Industry 4.0.
