Social Development Director - Roswell Job Corps Center

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Social Development Director to lead our residential living, recreational, and counseling programs at the Roswell Job Corps Center. As the Director, you will oversee the department's operations, staff management, and student support to ensure their successful transition to the workforce.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and administer residential living, recreational, and counseling programs.
• Supervise student living areas to maintain safety and accountability.
• Facilitate effective communication and student accountability processes.
• Hire, train, and evaluate staff within the department.
• Manage department budgets and facility needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and performance standards.
• Organize departmental meetings and prepare necessary reports.
• Provide career development support for students including resume help and job search strategies.
• Perform additional assigned duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in counseling, social services, or related field.
• Two years of experience in Job Corps or similar programs, with one year in a supervisory role.
• Preferred Master's degree and five years of supervisory experience in education, vocational training, or social services.
• Knowledge of counseling, recreational, and residential programs.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Frequent: Sitting, Seeing, Hearing, Speaking. Occasionally: Standing, Walking, Bending, Stooping, Squatting. Seldom: Climbing, Lifting 50 pounds, Carrying, Kneeling, Pushing/Pulling, Running, Driving.

Environmental Demands

Operating office equipment, occasional lone work, predominant teamwork, college-level reading and writing abilities.

Compensation

Salary: $75,000 per year.
