Job Description
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and passionate individuals to join our team as Day Camp Counselors for YMCA Summer Day Camps in Greater Grand Rapids. As a Day Camp Counselor, you will be responsible for leading engaging activities for youth while ensuring their safety and fostering their personal development. This seasonal position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives while enjoying a fun and rewarding work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and organize various indoor and outdoor activities for children, including games, crafts, and recreational programs.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for campers, adhering to all YMCA safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with parents and report on campers' progress and experiences.
- Assist in record-keeping and ensure all program documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Participate in emergency procedures training and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Experience or education in youth programs, recreation, or related fields is preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently under minimal supervision.
- Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED-Oxygen, and relevant clearances are required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage range: $14.62 - $18.28.
- Seasonal position with up to 40 hours per week.
