Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join Select Industries Corp, a leading manufacturing facility. As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for crafting dies and metal tools, interpreting design schematics, and assembling parts. Your expertise in metalwork, engineering, and attention to detail will be crucial in creating high-quality tools and molds for production.

Responsibilities

• Review and detail assembly prints as required.
• Build fixtures using tools and dies; create new dies for construction purposes.
• Repair and maintain dies, molds, and tools as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to build new fixtures and tools.
• Utilize CAD software to design and create blueprints.
• Inspect completed tools and dies for imperfections.
• Ensure all equipment and machines are set up correctly and functioning efficiently.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
• Operate machine tools to grind details to specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers and machinists as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Prior experience as a Tool & Die Maker.
• Proficiency in operating measuring and production equipment.
• Understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
• Ability to work independently and in team settings.
• Proficient in CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience

• Experience in die setting or metal stamping.
• Tool and Die Maker certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to meet job demands.

Work Environment

The role involves exposure to moving mechanical parts in a moderate noise level environment.
