Job Summary
The Ultrasonographer performs basic diagnostic ultrasound examinations as prescribed by physicians and documents findings. This role also involves assisting physicians with invasive procedures and ensuring appropriate patient care for successful procedure completion.
Essential Functions
- Obtain comprehensive patient history and operate ultrasound equipment competently.
- Perform various diagnostic ultrasound examinations as per physician prescriptions.
- Document quality images and assist physicians during invasive procedures.
- Maintain a clean work environment, stock rooms with supplies, and notify management of equipment malfunctions.
- Support objectives set by lead ultrasonographer and assist in credentialing and competencies.
Qualifications
- Required Associate's Degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree.
- CRT-Sonographer (S) - ARRT or equivalent certifications.
- Strong auditory and visual acuity required for various ultrasound studies.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision, serve as a technical specialist, and mentor less experienced staff.
