Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Advanced Veterinary Specialists in Santa Barbara. As part of our medical staff, you will provide compassionate care to our animal patients and support our board-certified specialists in surgery, oncology, internal medicine, cardiology, and dentistry.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate patient care and communicate effectively with clients and referral partners.
- Perform routine laboratory procedures and maintain accurate medical records.
- Assist in various medical treatments, surgeries, and post-operative care.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the surgery department.
Requirements
- High school diploma with at least 2 years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses and other medical procedures.
- California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) required.
Work Schedule
- Full-Time position with flexible schedules.
- Weekend and holiday availability may be required.
